AI avatar ad
A performance ad for a $139 CCS & J1772 → Tesla charging adapter, built for Meta Reels and the US market. One AI presenter, five locations, a strict eight-line script — and a product that had to look exactly right in every frame.

- 46 s + 20 s cuts

- Cards / captions A/B
01TaskTurn a fixed eight-line script into a native-looking Reels ad: hook, road-trip story, charging stops, specs, warranty CTA. Product in the safe zone, quiet music bed, no lyrics.
02ApproachOne presenter locked with a character sheet across five locations. Start frames generated and checked against the real product photo, then animated with the voice track as an audio reference for lip-sync.
03ResultA 46-second story cut and a 20-second cut-down, each with and without spec cards, captioned and clean — phone-style grade, sound design, mastered to −14 LUFS.
What was hard
Plug orientationGenerators kept flipping the CCS1 socket. Every frame was compared with the product photo: J1772 on top, DC pins below.
Morphing connectorWhere the plug started to morph mid-shot, the cut was moved so the defect never reaches the viewer.
Cybertruck scenesBuilt in code from real photos with slow camera moves instead of risking a generated truck.
Breath before the hookLesson kept for every ad since: 0.2–0.3 s of air before the first word so the hook doesn’t feel clipped.
